Our journey begins at Jatlan Head, a well-known spot that connects different routes and leads us towards the heart of Mirpur. From here, the adventure starts with fresh air, wide open roads, and a feeling of stepping into nature’s lap. The charm of Jatlan lies in its simplicity, where the beauty of rural life meets the natural environment.
After leaving Jatlan, we soon reach Joraain, a small yet lively city. Though it may look modest, Joraain has its own charm. The busy little markets, shops, and friendly locals reflect the simplicity of life. Children can be seen playing in the streets while shopkeepers greet customers with warmth. Moving forward from Joraain, the roads become even more mesmerizing. On both sides, we see lush green fields, tall trees, and farmers working in their lands. The sound of birds, the smell of fresh soil, and the endless stretches of greenery make the drive unforgettable. It feels like entering into a painting where nature is the artist.
Next, we arrive at Chaksagar, a place surrounded by natural beauty. With hills in the background and greenery all around, Chaksagar offers peaceful and breathtaking views. As we continue, we reach Waispa, famous for a beautiful marquee built right beside a hill. This location is often used for weddings and celebrations. Imagine attending a joyful event with the backdrop of green hills and fresh breeze – it is truly magical. The marquee itself adds a modern touch to the natural surroundings, making it a unique combination of tradition and beauty.

Right after Waispa, we come across Agur Kot, a place that hosts an orphanage. This location is deeply emotional, as it shows how the local community supports children who have no one to rely on. Our journey then takes us to Jari Kas, a place mostly managed by the army. This area has a peaceful environment with disciplined surroundings. Security is visible, but it does not disturb the beauty of the area. Alongside Jari Kas, we also see the gate of MUST University (Mirpur University of Science and Technology) – a hub for education and future opportunities.

From Khalaqa Bad, the road takes us to Hun Dam. The sight of water here refreshes the mind and body. Finally, our journey brings us into Mirpur City. Known as “Little England” due to its strong overseas connection, Mirpur is one of the most developed cities in Azad Kashmir. From modern infrastructure, wide roads, and busy markets to peaceful lakes and green surroundings, Mirpur offers everything. Entering Mirpur feels like entering a city that combines modern life with traditional Kashmiri beauty.
