Описание: Pick of the day: Jimmy Akingbola: Handle With Care The Holby City to Bel-Air actor Jimmy Akingbola reveals the truth about growing up in the care system in England as he reflects on his own experiences. Of children in Britain awaiting adoption, more than 40 per cent are black, yet black foster families are rare in comparison. At the age of two, Akingbola was uprooted from his Nigerian family and fostered by a white British couple who raised him alongside their birth children. He speaks to his foster family about their feelings and meets fellow actor Lennie James and Olympic athlete Kriss Akabusi, who both share their stories of fostering and adoption. The Great British Bake Off “It’s a bit boring” and “tough as old boots” are among the judgements passed during Pastry Week, as Prue Leith delivers on her earlier threat that “because it’s the quarter-final, Paul and I will be really ruthless”. Janusz, Abdul, Maxy, Sandro and Syabira are the remaining five and they have to bake 12 sweet vol-au-vents, eight spring rolls and a showstopper featuring a 3D pie scene inspired by childhood stories. Alexander Armstrong in South Korea Not every travelogue presenter can be Simon Reeve (more’s the pity) and anyway ITV viewers seem to prefer actors and comedians to do the globe-trotting stuff. The Pointless quizmaster begins his South Korean jaunt in downtown Seoul, in Gangnam, the district immortalised by Psy’s hit “Gangnam Style” . He also meets some local YouTubers, including Korean Billy, whose English accent impersonations are apparently an online sensation. Louis Theroux Interviews Dame Judi Dench Tracy Ullman’s comedy sketches imagining Dame Judi Dench as impishly trading on her national treasure status would seem to be not too far off the mark – at least as far as her mischievous sense of humour is concerned. Theroux visits the actress at home in Surrey – a house she reveals was purchased from the proceeds of advertising Clover “butter” spread with her late husband Michael Williams. She discusses Williams’s untimely death, her new “chap” (conservationist David Mills) and working with Clint Eastwood and Harvey Weinstein. Theroux also gets to meet Dench’s daughter and grandson, as well as her pet parrot, Sweetheart. The final three competitors hit the campaign trail in their last chance to win the title of Alternative Prime Minister – although they might as well give the winner the real keys to Downing Street given the recent chaos. Personalised battle buses, rowdy rallies and clichéd promotional videos are just some of the tools they have to impress judges Alastair Campbell and Sayeeda Warsi. The highly explicit sex scenes may be what “leave viewers shocked” (to quote one newspaper headline) but they are just part of what makes Industry brilliantly uncompromising. This week, Harper and Bloom risk being caught out in their short position by a crowd of Reddit-reading amateur investors, while Yasmin is bemused when Kenny recreates David Brent’s famous dance from The Office.
