A day after India’s strong military action under Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has reacted by attacking civilian areas in Poonch district, Jammu & Kashmir, and spreading fake news about shooting down Indian jets.
What Was Operation Sindoor?
On May 7, 2025, the Indian Army carried out airstrikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These attacks were a response to the terror attack in Pahalgam, where innocent Hindu pilgrims were killed. The operation was a success, with the use of SCALP missiles, HAMMER bombs, loitering drones, and satellite targeting. Importantly, no Indian aircraft entered Pakistani airspace.
How Did Pakistan React?
Just hours after the operation, Pakistan fired heavy artillery at villages near the LoC (Line of Control) in Poonch. This brutal attack began around 2 AM, killing 15 civilians and injuring at least 43 others, including children. Over 12 houses were damaged, and more than 150 people had to leave their homes.
Shelling took place in areas like Balakote, Mendhar, Mankote, Krishna Ghati, Sagra, Gulpur, and Kerni. Shockingly, the attack also hit Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha and Christ School in a Sikh-majority area.
This targeting of religious sites shows Pakistan’s dangerous mindset.
Pakistan’s Double Talk
Pakistan’s leaders are now giving confusing statements. While PM Shehbaz Sharif has threatened revenge, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says they are open to peace if India agrees. This shows Pakistan’s confusion and fear.
At the same time, Pakistan has started spreading fake news, claiming it shot down five Indian jets. But this is completely false — India never sent aircraft into Pakistani skies. All weapons were launched from within India using modern long-range systems.
When CNN asked Defence Minister Asif for proof, he simply said, “It’s on social media.” Can such a serious matter be based only on viral videos?
India’s Real Example of Unity
Yesterday, in a proud moment, India showed unity and strength in its Army press conference. Col. Sofiya Qureshi, a Muslim woman, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, a Hindu woman, jointly briefed the media about Operation Sindoor. Their teamwork shows what true unity looks like.
