Here, in the first part, the scenes are taken from " La maschera del demonio" (Black Sunday) 1960 ; "La ragazza che sapeva troppo" (The girl who knew too much) 1963; "I tre volti della paura" (Black Sabbath) 1963; "Sei donne per l'assassino (Blood and black lace) 1964 and "Operazione paura" (Kill baby, kill!) 1966!
Mario Bava is known as the first great director of the italian horror: his movies are miliar stones for directors like Argento, Tarantino, Burton, Dante, Romero, Craven and many others who took many ideas from Bava making them often stereotypical in most recent movies. eg: the killer with a raincoat and the mask, razor as a fatal wapon, a dropping sink or a telephone ringing when we are alone as elements to create suspense etc Bava is also famous for his great colours (he was also a light designer), his visual tricks, his large use of zoom an distorsions and his ability in playing with the focus.
