AN EXAMPLE OF A 74hc4067 MULTIPLEXER IN ACTION.
I had difficulty reading digital inputs through a multiplexer using teensy recently.
The issue has been resolved.
here is a link explaining in more detail. It includes the code needed to read digital input through the multiplexer and light up LEDS when buttons are pressed :)
