The prototype for a Mark Rober class build went off the rails several times. The original design was intended to mount and be anchored in a cup holder and build scaffolding to suspend a cup holder with more responsiveness to motion. Structural engineering is not my background, but it seemed clear that was going to be more difficult than time and skill allowed, so I let the car carry the weight with a T-bone frame that could hold the new cupholder.
This version was a dressed up iteration of the Plan B design, and this video put it through the paces.
