China Airlines Flight CI004 "Dynasty 004" from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE/RCTP) to San Francisco (SFO/KSFO), operated by Boeing 747-400 B-18212.
Flight time was 11 hours and 7 minutes with an initial cruising altitude of 32,000 feet, which eventually increased to 38,000 and, eventually, 39,000 feet.
We took off from Runway 05L in Taipei at 12:10AM and encountered the sunrise as we flew just south of Japan. The sun started setting as we started our descent west of Northern California over the Pacific Ocean. During the final descent, we flew over the city of San Francisco heading south and made a 180-degree left turn over Palo Alto and the Dumbarton Bridge before landing on Runway 28L.
