This video features a Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) C151, trainset 085/086, which is from Tuas Depot (TWD) to serve the East-West Line (EWL) for the AM Rush Hours, from EW17 Tiong Bahru to EW19 Queenstown stations, bound for EW33 Tuas Link.
For the entire of the year 2026, I will be uploading backlog KHI C151s videos that I currently have, slowly releasing them day by day for nostagia purposes. Enjoy them while you can!
Very recently, it seems that the acceleration problem of EMU 085/086 has gotten worse, to the point where it starts to drag itself past a certain speed of 30-40km/h. And especially when departing EW18 Redhill for EW19 Queenstown, the train really struggled to accelerate all the way till the full speed...
Not very sure what caused this problem to surface, very likely with the motors having problems, and a few other KHI C151s were also affected by this too such as Trainset 125/126.
Strong Motor can be heard on carriage 1085 door A1/B1 area, which is from the former carriage 1015 door A1/B1 area.
Trainset 085/086 has unfortunately been retired from the entire NSEWL network, with it being last seen as Train Run Number (TRN) 771 on 2/1/2026 from East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) to Tuas Depot after the completion of testing of the ECID. Sources indicate that Trainset 085/086 will be used for train testing at the Singapore Rail Test Center.
