Top 5 Cards for Tajic, Legion's Edge by Bennie Smith "The Complete Commander"

Описание: Hello! It’s Bennie here with the Top 5 Cards from my write-up on Guilds of Ravnica legend Tajic, Legion’s Edge as your Commander.
Tajic looks like just another aggressive Boros commander, but he’s got one ability that really makes him unique. You basically get a Mark of Asylum for all your other creatures tacked on for free.
That’s actually incredible given that red has a ton of efficient ways to dish out damage to all creatures on the battlefield, and I’ve created a really cool Commander deck that plays different from any other Boros deck out there. Okay, let’s get started! #5 is…
Ashling the Pilgrim! Usually you grow Ashling by paying mana to add +1/+1 counters, but Tajic’s mentor ability lets you do that for no mana so long as you’re attacking with both of them. Once Ashling has two or three counters, you can activate the ability to get a mini-sweeper on demand. Normally, this will kill Ashling but thanks to Tajic, Ashling and all your other smaller creatures will survive. This is a great way to keep opponent’s token strategies in check.
Alright, so then we get to #4, which is…
Bastion Protector! The downside to Tajic’s protection ability is that it doesn’t protect himself, so cards like Bastion Protector are helpful in extending the benefit back to Tajic. So like when Ashling’s ability triggers, Tajic protects Ashling and Bastion Protector, and Bastion Protector protects Tajic. It’s a win-win!
Now we get to #3…
Blasphemous Act! As nice as Ashling’s ability is with Tajic, sometimes opposing creatures are much bigger than that. Blasphemous Act to the rescue! This incredible card can often be cast for just a single red mana, but sometimes you’re hesitant to cast since you’ll have creatures you’d rather not lose. Tajic takes the downside away almost completely, and if you’ve a way to protect Tajic there’s no downside!
Next up is card #2, which ties nicely with Blasphemous Act...
Firesong and Sunspeaker! Cards like Blasphemous Act and Star of Extinction combine with Firesong and Sunspeaker to net the caster an incredible amount of life, but it often clears your own board of any creatures. Tajic smashes that symmetry to pieces! And while you’ll gain a little less life since your own creatures won’t be taking any of the damage, being able to maintain your battlefield presence while everyone else loses their creatures more than offsets that.
And last but not least, our #1 card is…
Mother of Runes! Sure, she’s not splashy but she does a ton of good work in Commander decks for the one mana cost. You can cast her early and benefit from the mentor ability with Tajic. Later, she can give Tajic protection from a potential blocker so he can attack and trigger mentor. She can protect Tajic from pinpoint removal like Swords to Plowshares if people are trying to stop your combos. And lastly, she can give Tajic protection from red so he survives your big red sweeper spells. Sometimes simple and efficient are the best!
