Loralin Gets Her Final Prosthesis - By Quorum Prosthetics

Loralin is lucky to have Jamie to practice some activities of daily living like washing dishes, putting items on shelves, using the prosthesis to carry a bag, and sweeping the floor while having Amy Ginsburg, her prosthetist, there to make adjustments as needed.

Jamie also helped train her to use her pec muscle without moving her shoulder. Having an interdisciplinary team consisting of physiatrists, occupational therapists, and prosthetists is important in helping the patient be a successful prosthetic user.

‪@fidlock‬ magnetic buckles allow Loralin to don the prosthesis independently. She uses a pressure switch above her shoulder to lock and unlock the elbow. She uses a compact electrode at her pec muscle; when she fires her muscle the hand opens and when she relaxes, the hand closes.

‪@ottobock‬ shoulder joint (12S6=R), elbow (Ergo arm Electronic plus 12K50=45-7) and sensor speed hand (8E38=8-R7) with glove.
