Located approximately 90km north of Kathmandu Valley, Amayangri boasts the highest peak nearest to the capital city, making it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking adventure and tranquility.

Amayangri is an area inhabited by Sherpas, Tamangs, and Chhetries, nestled within the Helambu Circuit trekking route, renowned for its majestic landscapes and vibrant culture. This trek, also known as the "Hyolmo Heritage," offers visitors a glimpse into the unique Hyolmo culture, along with breathtaking views of the Langtang Range, the Annapurnas, Manaslu, and even Everest on a clear day.

The trek passes through beautiful rhododendron, pine, and oak forests, offering a mesmerizing experience for nature enthusiasts. The best time to enjoy this trek is during the Nepalese month of Chaitra, typically falling in March or April. On the full moon day of Chaitra, locals and visitors alike gather at Amayangri to witness the sunrise from its summit, a tradition filled with reverence and celebration.

As part of the ritual, lamas conduct hours-long prayers to honor the mother protector, while locals indulge in butter tea, barley beer, and local wine, basking in the warmth of the sun and the beauty of their surroundings.
