Описание: In this video we will introduce the infection process and explain how microorganisms enter, establish, and grow within a human host. We will then look at the main portals of entry, including the respiratory, gastrointestinal, urogenital, and skin routes, and how these influence whether infection occurs. In addition to this we will explore the concept of infective dose and why the same exposure can lead to infection in some individuals but not others. We will also examine adhesion, colonisation, and microbial strategies for evading host defences. Finally, we will outline how successful growth and replication complete the infection process.
