The Movement That Will Change Latin America Forever | The New Pink Tide

Описание: The Pink Tide was a moment of change for Latin America at a time when neoliberalism was consolidating its global power. With leaders such as Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, Lula de Silva in Brazil, Evo Morales in Bolivia, among several other states, the Pink Tide movement evolved into real organization through the Sao Paulo Forum and ALBA. Although stands of the movement have persisted since this initial period, much of the movement faltered as leftist parties were voted and couped out of power. In recent years, however, a renewed trend towards left-wing parties has been noticed. In this video, I discuss this history, and explore the necessity for left-wing parties in power in Latin America to cement their power through the use of state force in order to combat reactionary forces that seek to overturn their democratically elected governments. If this can be done, Latin America is facing a bright future with ever-increasing prominence on the world stage.

This one took much longer than I intended, but its finally done and I’ve already been able to get a fair amount of work done on the next couple videos, so I plan on having a more regular and shorter release window in the upcoming weeks!
