Welcome to our live coverage of the premier junior athletics showcase—the Jamaica Independent Schools' Association (JISA) National Preparatory Schools Track & Field Championship! Governed by World Athletics rules with specialized modifications for our junior stars, this meet promises elite energy, fierce school pride, and unforgettable moments from start to finish.

What to Expect on the Track & Field:

The Age Group Battles: Competitors will be fighting for points across distinct divisions, including Class III (ages 6–7), Class II (ages 8–9), Class I (ages 10–11), and the U-13 Open division.

The Sprints & Hurdles: Watch the tactical shifts as Class III athletes launch from raw standing starts, while the older Class I and Open athletes lock into starting blocks for explosive crouch starts and the intense 60m hurdles.

The Relays: The action intensifies with the 4 x 200m relay, the highly anticipated Mixed Gender Relay (2 boys, 2 girls), and the unique Medley Relays 200m x 100m x 100m x 400m for boys; 200m x 100m x 100m x 200m for girls).

The Field Events: Precision is key as athletes take on the High Jump, push the distance limits in the Long Jump pits, and showcase over-the-shoulder power in the specialized Ball Throw competition.

The Fight for the Championship Title:

Every single place matters! Teams are fighting tooth and nail for every point under the official JISA scoring system:

Individual Events: 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points awarded for 1st through 8th place.

Relay Events: Big points on the line with 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 points up for grabs.
