There’s no better way to celebrate than diving with my beloved sharks, surrounded by the ocean. Every birthday, I’m reminded of how blessed I am to spend time with the creatures and people who inspire me to live fully—especially the ocean and its marine life.

Diving with sharks on my birthday is the ultimate gift. Being underwater with them, observing their natural behavior, and coexisting in their world is both humbling and fulfilling. It’s an incredible reminder of how interconnected we are with the ocean and the vital role sharks play in our ecosystem.

A Day with My Shark Family 🦈
We started the day early, heading out to the calm ocean. The water was crystal clear, and the visibility was amazing. As soon as I saw the familiar dorsal fins in the water, my excitement soared. These sharks are family to me. Over the years, I’ve formed bonds with tiger sharks, Galapagos sharks, and even hammerheads, each with their own personality. Some are curious and circle us, while others swim calmly past in the distance. There’s a sense of mutual respect that develops over time. Our dives are all about coexistence, and these sharks have taught me invaluable lessons in patience and respect for nature.

Beyond the joy of diving, my birthday is also a time to reflect on our conservation work. Sharks face many challenges, like overfishing and habitat destruction. Each dive is a reminder of how crucial it is to protect them. Thankfully, we’ve seen a shift in public perception as more people recognize the significance of sharks in our ecosystems. Shark tourism, for example, allows people to dive with these majestic animals and witness their beauty firsthand, changing fear into respect.

But there’s still work to do. We must continue advocating for sharks, raising awareness, and fighting to protect their habitats. My birthday wish is always the same—that sharks can one day thrive without the threats they face today.
