Khazanah-led consortium succeeds in MAHB takeover offer

Khazanah Nasional and EPF’s Gateway Development Alliance (GDA) appear to have succeeded in their bid to privatise Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB).
This follows the revision of the acceptance threshold of the takeover to 85 per cent, from 90 per cent originally.
The consortium held a total of 86.51 per cent of MAHB shares as of Jan 17.
The offer deadline has been extended again, now closing on Feb 4, with the offer price unchanged at RM11 per share.
Before the bid, Khazanah owned 33.2 per cent of MAHB, with EPF holding 7.9 per cent and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority 0.13 per cent.
Once finalised, Khazanah will be the single largest shareholder with a 40 per cent stake, while the EPF will hold 30 per cent.
