Tomra T-9 Glass RVM @ Wegmans, Rochester NY

Описание: A rather rare sight in the US. This store used to have 4 Tomra T-63 HCp and 2 Tomra T-820 Glass RVMs and now has 2 Tomra T-70 Combi, 1 Tomra T-70 Plastic, and 2 Tomra T-9 Glass RVMs, all of which are/were rear-unloading models. Unfortunately I was not able to get any videos before the T-820s were replaced.

On this particular machine, all colored glass goes into the center bin, rather than sorting green from brown glass. I believe the machine next to it sorts green from brown, I will confirm this on my next visit. Interestingly, glass coke bottles are considered colored glass rather than clear due to their slight green tint. If the rightmost machine does sort different colors, I will see about testing a blue glass bottle to see where it goes (Envipcos will put blue glass with brown glass).

Note that bottles sometimes break upon being dropped into the bin. I don't believe these machines were equipped with a soft-drop system, they just drop bottles directly into the bin.

As can be seen in the pictures at the end, these newer RVMs are a lot more compact than the machines they replaced. The bottle room has since been renovated and the gaps closed.
