BIO:
Ron Christopher is a multi award-winning guitarist, singer, and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California, known for a sound that seamlessly blends Western swing, cowboy poetry, Americana, and a hint of rockabilly. His music is as authentic as the stories he tells, capturing the imagination with melodies that are compelling, insistent, and deeply evocative, delivered in a voice reminiscent of legends like Marty Robbins, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash. He draws inspiration from the songwriting of Kris Kristofferson, Tom Russell, and Joe Ely, creating songs that resonate with both heart and grit.
Since 2008, Ron has written and produced six albums of original material, including Silver Screen Heroes and Other Legends, Into the West, Borderline Career, Outside the Fence, No Place Left to Go, and his most recent release, Dust of Los Angeles (2024). The album’s standout single, Forever 1956, showcases Ron’s storytelling prowess and his ability to transport listeners to a specific time and place, while reflecting universal themes of love, memory, and nostalgia. His music is widely available across platforms including CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Google Play.
A lifelong admirer of Marty Robbins, Ron credits the country legend as a major influence on his songwriting. His album Into the West was named Album of the Year (2016) by the Academy of Western Artists, which later honoured him as Songwriter of the Year in 2020. He has also received multiple nominations from the FCPM Red Carpet Awards, solidifying his reputation as a leading voice in contemporary Western and Americana music.
LYRICS:
Forever 1956
You can see him every Sunday night at Cody’s bar and grille
Dressed up just like Elvis… just like time standin still
Nothins changed in 60 years, in time forever fixed
See for Jimmy its Forever…..1956
An old time rock and roller, whose time has come and gone,
It’s a blast out of the past…. He’s lived out every song
Bebopa LuLa, love me tender, rock a billy licks
And for Jimmy its forever 1956
BRIDGE: Jet black hair he don’t care if anyone can tell
He’s past his prime, but in his mind he’s young and raisin hell
He may be old but he’s solid gold…. He’s got them Elvis moves
That’s alright mama…. Stay off my blue suede shoes
Some night soon in some barroom he’ll take his final bow
Step out in the spotlight and hear The Masters Call
They say Heavens what you think it is ….Well I hope that story sticks
Cause for Jimmy its Forever 1956
2nd BRIDGE: If heavens got a stage … you can surely bet
He’ll be there on 50’s night a spotlight silhouette
Young and free eternally the say he wants to be
That’s allright mama… that’s allright with me
So if you see him singin up there on that stage
Acting like he’s 21 you’d never guess his age
Join his fans clap yr hands. Watch get him his kicks
See for Jimmy its Forever …1956
