Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a tragic plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred around 8:45 am, shortly before landing. Five people, including Ajit Pawar, his personal assistant, security personnel, and aircraft crew members, lost their lives. The chartered aircraft was flying from Mumbai to Baramati. The DGCA has confirmed the deaths.
The aircraft, a Bombardier Learjet 45 with registration VT-SSK, was operated by VSR Aviation. Ajit Pawar was travelling to Baramati to address a public meeting for the Maharashtra panchayat elections. Investigators are examining the cause of the crash, including flight data and cockpit voice recorders.
