Nickel short squeeze drama at the Chinese owned London Metal exchange

The Ukraine war has driven up metal prices. Nickel prices tripled within two days, and the Chinese-owned London Metal Exchange (the LME) has staged a "short-sell" war over nickel. A short-squeeze pushed Chinese nickel mining giant Tsingshan to face huge potential financial losses. The Chinese government, the London Metal Exchange, and multinational banks all came to the company's rescue, but they might have ruined the reputation of a 145-year old British Institution.
