Описание: (Sydney, 19/10): Between 17 and 19 October 2019, an international drum band festival called the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (REMT) was held in Sydney, Australia. The combined Taruna Akademi TNI (Indonesian Military Academy Cadet) drum band, led by (Indonesian National Army Command Headquarters) General Director, Brigadier General Pramudya (Mako Akademi TNI) was present at the international event. Seventy-five cadets in attendance consisted of 25 Military Academy Cadets; 25 Naval Academy Cadets and 25 Air Force Academy Cadets. The Delegation of the Indonesian Military Academy Cadets had arrived at the Olympic Park, Homebush Sydney since 12 October 2019 on Boeing 737 aircraft owned by the Indonesian Air Force.



REMT is an international drum band festival that has lasted for nearly 70 years (since 1949). The show began at Prince Street Garden in Edinburgh, Scotland, inspired by a show entitled 'Something About a Soldier' which took place in 1949 at the Ross Bandstand. Initially, the festival aimed to bring the Scottish Army's contribution to the international festival. Today the show itself has become a world-class show. Tattoo is a night drum or trumpet signal calling soldiers back to their quarters (quarters).



The REMT event in Sydney this time was attended by 1,521 participants from 14 countries namely: Australia; United Kingdom (UK); Switzerland; France; India; Tonga; Fiji, Cook Islands, New Zealand, and the first participating countries to participate are Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands; Samoa and Vanuatu. REMT was officially opened by the Commander in Chief of the Australian Armed Forces (CDF), General Angus Campbell. Besides, the event was also attended by honorary guests from countries that participated in the festival including Indonesia, namely Vice Admiral Aan Kurnia - Commander General of Indonesian National Army Command Headquarters Academy. Also present at the VIP stand was Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, M.I. Derry Aman and other delegations from Indonesia.



The drum band performance of the combined Indonesian Military Academy Cadet got applauses (standing ovation) and positive comments when the stick master (Penata Rama) threw the drum sticks of his band's forces far into the sky, which later they called it 'flying stick'. The committee expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Indonesian drum band and plans to invite them back to the festival next year (2020) which is planned to be held again in its original country, Scotland.
