This 20-minute Short + Sweet Shoulders practice is a yin and mellow yoga sequence designed to release shoulder and upper-back tension through moderate yin postures combined with gentle, supportive movement. The pace is slow and calming, offering relief without forcing stretch or intensity.
The practice blends longer-held, accessible yin shapes for the shoulders, upper back, and chest with small movements in and around each posture. This approach supports gradual softening while maintaining comfort, circulation, and nervous system regulation.
This practice focuses on:
• moderate yin postures for the shoulders and upper back
• gentle movement within and between shapes
• releasing habitual holding in the neck, shoulders, and chest
• supporting ease, steadiness, and internal awareness
This practice may be supportive if you:
• hold stress or tension in the shoulders, neck, or upper back
• spend long periods sitting or working at a desk
• prefer yin yoga that allows movement rather than stillness alone
• want a short practice that feels restorative rather than effortful
Props such as blankets, bolsters, or pillows are encouraged to support comfort and reduce strain.
