Описание: When the children of Israel reached Mount Sinai, the prophet Moses went atop the mountain, met with Yahweh and returned with the law on the fiery tablet stones. Beyond that, he also saw the pattern of the heavenly tabernacle which he replicated in the wilderness. This tabernacle in the wilderness was the tabernacle of Aaron, the High Priest and his sons.
In replicating the pattern of heavenly things, Moses depicted God's throne and abode in the form of the tabernacle. Thus, having seen the throne of heaven surrounded by thick darkness, he depicted that by covering the tabernacle with garments of darkness.
As much as there was the tabernacle of the High Priest where God interacted with the high Priests, there was also the tent of Moses which was outside the camp where Moses lived. In actual fact, that tent was the bedroom of Moses. There, God spoke with Moses face to face.
It's worthy to note that God never spoke to Aaron and his sons face to face but by dreams and visions. The avenue of dreams is by the doorway of sleep. Hence the main way the high Priests heard the voice of God was by falling into a state of sleep or trance (a fainting).
Note that the tabernacle and the tent of Moses were different. In the tent, Moses heard God whiles he was wide awake but at the Tabernacle, the Priests heard God in their sleep state. Additionally, the ordained place for Moses was his tent and not the tabernacle.
