Jessica is 85 and lives with Parkinson’s disease. Her hands tremble, sitting upright is difficult, and yet she has been left to care for her grandchildren. For years, she had no choice but to walk slowly — with a stick for support — to a contaminated stream to collect water, a journey that was painful, exhausting, and unsafe.
When our team met Jessica during the Discovery Trip, she cried tears of joy.
Today, thanks to the Uganda WASH Project, Jessica’s life looks very different. She now has a safe water tank beside her home and a proper latrine, giving her independence, dignity, and renewed hope.
Through the Uganda WASH Appeal, we’re working alongside communities to bring clean water, safe sanitation, and WASH education to families, schools, and villages across Uganda.
