Описание: An 18th-Century Kirkman harpsichord was restored and returned to its home at Dumfries House, the headquarters of The Prince’s Foundation, in 2020. The instrument was delivered to Dumfries House in 1772 and was listed for auction by Christie’s in 2007 as part of the wider Dumfries House collection before the house and estate was saved for the nation by HRH The Prince of Wales. The restoration of the harpsichord by specialist restorer Huw Saunders was made possible thanks to the support of Keneko Cord Co., Ltd. Here, Huw describes the historical importance of the instrument and the work behind its restoration.
