Soft and flavorful Gujarati Style Methi Thepla 🫓🌿 made at home with simple ingredients. Perfect for breakfast, lunchbox or travel meals ✨
🥣 INGREDIENTS:
• 1 fresh bundle methi (fenugreek leaves) 🌿
• 1 inch ginger
• 4 green chillies 🌶
• 300g whole wheat flour
• 3 tablespoons besan
• ½ tsp turmeric powder
• 1 tsp cumin powder
• 1½ tsp salt (or to taste) 🧂
• 1 tsp red chilli powder 🌶
• ½ tsp ajwain
• 10g roasted sesame seeds
👩🍳 METHOD:
1️⃣ Finely chop methi leaves.
2️⃣ Crush ginger and green chillies.
3️⃣ In a large bowl, mix wheat flour, besan, and all spices.
4️⃣ Add chopped methi and crushed ginger-chilli mixture.
5️⃣ Knead into a soft dough using little water as required.
6️⃣ Let the dough rest for 20 minutes ⏳
7️⃣ Divide into equal portions and roll thin theplas.
8️⃣ Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds on top before cooking.
9️⃣ Cook on a hot tawa with a little ghee until golden on both sides 🔥
Makes 8–10 soft theplas.
Serve warm and enjoy 🤍
