Steven Gardiner produced a stunning turn of pace to win gold in the men's 400m at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha. Gardiner, from The Bahamas, set a new national record of 43.48s to claim the title. Pan American champion Anthony Jose Zambrano lowered his personal best to record a South American record of 44.15s for silver, with Fred Kerley taking the bronze in 44.17s.
