As we're still locked down, here's another wee video from my Edinburgh archive which I hope you enjoy. I visited Riddle's Court on its re-opening day after being shut for two years for restoration. Riddle's Court is a superb 16th century, A listed, courtyard house which is now the Patrick Geddes Centre for Learning & Conservation. It's easily located at the top of the Royal Mile, about a 15 minute walk from Waverley Train Station.
Riddle's Court was originally built in 1590 by bailie John McMorran, but gets its name from George Riddell who reconstructed it in 1726. David Hume the philosopher lived here in 1751 and it was host to a grand banquet for King James VI in 1598. The court house contains many significant architectural features, including a very rare 16th century painted beam ceiling.
The Court was recently restored by the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust at a cost of £6million and was opened as The Patrick Geddes Centre for Learning by prince Charles in 2017. It is open to visitors and tours are available.

I'm working on a brand new website which will showcase things to see and do in Edinburgh. I'm in the process of building it, but you're welcome to take a sneek peak at https://www.secretedinburgh.co.uk/
Stay safe everyone and I hope to be able to film some brand new content soon.
