Created by Gary Nutland of Walnut Media, and commissioned for the occasion of Lace Unravelled, a Nottingham City Museums and Galleries project funded by Arts Council England.
‘Lace: A Treasury of Inspiration’ examines Nottingham City Museums and Galleries world-class lace and lace machinery collections, and highlights the wide scope of the collection. The lace collection at NCMG is a national treasure which contains fine examples from a wide range of periods and sources. With the resurgence of lace in contemporary culture and an increase in the use of lace for inspiration, we hope that the collection will form a valuable resource for artists, designers and the public to explore.
