Pharmacists play a vital role in supporting the global goal of “Health for All” by providing much more than just medication dispensing. This September, as we celebrate all Pharmacists around the world, we choose to recognize and celebrate them as key contributors to primary health care and integral to achieving Universal Health Coverage and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3, which focuses on good health and well-being for all. Therefore, ahead of World Pharmacist Day, in collaboration with the Pharmacy Students' Association of Kenya (KEPhSA), we have curated this event to shine a spotlight on the importance of 'Nurturing the Next Generation of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Leaders.'
As the pharmacy profession advances, driven by innovations, interventions and good best practices, it is vital to prepare future practitioners to be well equipped to function in an ever evolving pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Under the theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacy,” we call on students, professionals, educators, and industry stakeholders to unite in supporting the growth and leadership of pharmacists, recognizing their central role in building healthier communities today and in the future.
