DOROTHY RODHAM, THE MOTHER OF SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON HAS DIED. SHE WAS 92. RODHAM PASSED AWAY SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT, SURROUNDED BY HER FAMILY.
A STATEMENT FROM THE CLINTON FAMILY SAYS, "She overcame abandonment and hardship as a young girl to become the remarkable woman she was - a warm, generous and strong woman; an intellectual; a woman who told a great joke and always got the joke; an extraordinary friend and, most of all, a loving wife, mother and grandmother."
ON MONDAY, SECRETARY CLINTON CANCELLED TRIPS TO LONDON AND TURKEY DUE TO HER MOTHER'S HEALTH. She OFTEN CREDITED HER MOTHER WITH INSPIRING HER.
RODHAM WILL BE REMEMBERED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT A PRIVATE CELEBRATION.
