Honey Garlic Wings
Ingredients
Wings & Brine:
2 lbs Chicken Wings
1 Cup Buttermilk
1/4 Cup Hot Sauce
Seasoned Flour:
1 Cup Cornstarch
1/2 Cup Flour
2 tsp Chicken Powder (or Kosher Salt)
2 tsp Black Pepper
2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
Soy Honey Garlic Butter Sauce:
1 Stick Butter (for sautéing)
40g Garlic (minced)
2/3 Cup Honey
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp Kosher Salt
1/2 Stick Cold Butter (cubed)
Instructions
1. Brine the Wings:
Mix buttermilk and hot sauce in a bowl. Marinate wings for 1 hour.
2. Prepare the Seasoned Flour:
Combine cornstarch, flour, chicken powder, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Coat the Wings:
Remove wings from brine, let excess drip off, then dredge in the seasoned flour. Press firmly to ensure coating sticks.
4. Fry the Wings:
Heat oil to 350°F and fry wings for 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Ensure internal temp reaches 165°F.
5. Make the Sauce:
Melt 1 stick of butter in a pan over low heat. Add garlic and cook for 5 minutes.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, and salt. Simmer for 3 minutes.
Turn off heat and slowly whisk in cold butter cubes until fully melted and emulsified.
6. Coat & Serve:
Toss the crispy wings in the sauce until evenly coated. Serve hot and enjoy!
Tips:
Better Coating: Let wings rest for 5 minutes after dredging for a stronger crust.
