Thenseri Hill Murugan Temple (also known as Senseri Hill or Mandagiri Velayudaswamy Temple). This is the hill where Lord Murugan received the Panchakshara mantra from Lord Shiva (who is considered as Kailasanathar there). This mantra gave Murugan the immense strength needed to defeat the powerful demon Soorapadma. Due to this mantra initiation, the hill got its name "Mandagiri". Here Lord Murugan is uniquely depicted with six faces - five facing forward and one facing backward. Additionally, instead of carrying a rooster flag, he holds a fully grown live rooster in his upper left hand, and his peacock crest is located on the left side rather than the traditional right side. The temple is famous for the Mangalavara Trishathi Puja on Tuesdays, where 300 names are chanted. Devotees rely heavily on this puja to remove obstacles related to marriage and childbirth. The temple is also known for its Chatru Samhara Archana to ward off evil spirits and a unique flower-based ritual where locals seek Lord Murugan's permission before making any major life or business decisions.🌿🙏
