Описание: In Rwanda, the government has ordered the closure of around 8,000 churches and mosques across the country, officially for failing to comply with safety and administrative regulations. President Paul Kagame, recently re-elected for a fourth term, has long criticised the excessive number of places of worship, accusing them of exploiting poverty. Despite some mild protests, most religious leaders are focusing on bringing their churches up to standard, hoping for a reopening. FRANCE 24’s Clément Di Roma reports.
