An Omnissa Horizon Gateway Certificate is an SSL/TLS certificate installed on the Unified Access Gateway (UAG) to secure remote access to virtual desktops and applications. It validates the UAG's identity to clients, prevents man-in-the-middle attacks, and secures traffic, with trusted CA-signed certificates strongly recommended over default self-signed ones.
|| Key Aspects of Omnissa Horizon Gateway Certificates:
__Purpose: Encrypts user sessions (Blast, PCoIP) from the Internet to the internal network and ensures secure, authorized access.
__Usage in UAG: UAG appliances, which act as the security edge for Horizon, use these certificates for TLS termination.
__Security Best Practices: In production, self-signed certificates must be replaced with trusted CA-signed certificates (PFX or PEM format).
__Double DMZ Requirement: In high-security, double-DMZ deployments, the same certificate must be applied to both external and internal UAGs to ensure correct thumbprint validation.
__Blast Reverse Connection: Certificates can be used to authorize and secure Blast connections, ensuring traffic originates from authorized UAGs.
__Certificate Management: Horizon 2212 and later versions include management consoles to monitor and handle these certificates directly.
|| For production environments, it is recommended to replace the default self-signed certificate with one from a trusted certificate authority
