How to Set Up Anonymous VPN → Tor on Tails OS (VPN.CD Level 2) | OpenVPN + tails.sh

In this video, you’ll learn how to configure VPN.CD Level 2 on Tails OS for an anonymous VPN → TOR setup using Persistent Storage, Tor Browser, and the tails.sh OpenVPN script.

1) Buy & activate Level_2

Go to VPN.CD → Pricing, choose Level_2 (example: Double), select your location(s) and period.

Create an account and pay the invoice.

Wait for transaction confirmation (payment completed).

Open your Dashboard and wait for the service installation to finish.

2) Prepare Tails correctly

Start Tails with:

Persistent Storage enabled

Unsafe Browser allowed

Administrator password set

Configure Persistent Storage features (enable what you need to save your data).

3) Download VPN keys via Tor

Connect to the Tor network.

Using Tor Browser, log in and download your VPN keys.

4) Install VPN → TOR using tails.sh

Download the setup script: https://vpn.cd/tails.sh

Open Downloads → extract the keys archive into a new folder (double-click the archive) and move tails.sh into the same folder.

Open that folder and copy everything inside it to the Persistent folder.

Rename the file DedicatedVPN*.ovpn** (IMPORTANT: rename THIS one, not the file with DedicatedVPN*_TCP_443.ovpn**) to:

tov.ovpn

5) Run commands (Terminal / Console)

Open Console and run:

sudo su
(enter your Tails administrator password)

cd Persistent

chmod +x tails.sh

./tails.sh

Wait until all required packages are installed.

When OpenVPN asks for authorization, enter your vpn.cd account email + password.

Wait for the message confirming successful VPN connection.

6) Verify the VPN routing (must check)

Open a new Console window and run:

ip route

If the first line looks like:

0.0.0.0/1 via 10.8.*.* dev tun0
…it means the VPN is connected and routing traffic through itself.

7) Check browsers (final confirmation)

Tor Browser: you should see a new Tor IP address.

Unsafe Browser: you should see the VPN IP address.

Next launches on Tails (repeat setup)

Boot Tails with Persistent enabled, Unsafe Browser allowed, and Admin password set.

Open Console and run:

sudo su (enter admin password)

cd Persistent

./tails.sh

Enter your vpn.cd email + password when OpenVPN asks.

Wait for the success message and verify network operation.
