Volvo B10L Alexander Ultras

Описание: In this video we pay tribute to the Citybus / Ulsterbus Volvo B10L Alexander Ultras which were the first low floor buses to run in Northern Ireland.

In 1995 a batch of 60 Volvo B10Ls with Alexander (Belfast) Ultra Bodywork were ordered for use with Citybus & Ulsterbus.

The first Ultra was delivered to Citybus in September 1995 which was Demonstrator vehicle 2700.

The production batch of Ultras were numbered 2701 to 2760 these vehicles entered service between November 1996 & May 1997.

2701 to 2750 went to Citybus & 2751 to 2760 went to Ulsterbus

A second demonstrator 2761 was delivered in September 1996

The last of the Ultras were withdrawn in October 2012 after just 15 years of service.

Sadly a most of the Ultras were scrapped
Demonstrators 2700 & 2761 were among the batch that were sent for scrap.

Today it is believed that only 2 Ultra's survive.

2730 Was in use with a private operator in Dublin however it is believed that 2730 has now been withdrawn and it is rumoured to have been scrapped. (But not confirmed)

2732 Is still around but it is unknown were it currently is.

2750 Was until recently stored in a private yard in Cork but sadly she has now been scrapped.
