In this video I test a high haste Frost Mage opener with a Frozen Orb build to attempt to induce as many occurrences of the Infinite Stars corruption as I can within the first minute of a fight. IS scales up to 10 stacks as a debuff on your target, increasing its damage by 25% per stack, so the longer the fight, the more damage you can expect via this corruption.
IS has an RPPM that factors in a character's Haste, which is why Demon Hunters and Shadow Priests tend to see the shortest time between instances of Infinite Stars - a fact that usually puts IS as their top damaging ability in ST scenarios. It is not entirely clear if certain abilities (like Eye Beam or Frozen Orb) have the potential to proc IS with each tick, as opposed to individual uses of the GCD or spell casts.
This build features a moderate use of IS (one tier 3 and one tier 2) that may be reasonably deployed in a raid environment, pushing around 250k to 300k damage per IS once 10 stacks is achieved.
