Speaker Thomas A. Sangma said the Business Advisory Committee, with government consent, resolved on Friday to suspend the February 20 agenda of the Meghalaya Assembly after Shillong MP Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon's sudden death.
The House convened for an obituary reference before adjourning.
Since Friday was set for Government Business, it's approval was obtained to drop the listed items.
Sangma added that the Budget presentation and the reply to the Governor's Address will be rescheduled once the calendar is revised.
The BAC meeting, which he chaired, included Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, Opposition Leader Dr. Mukul M. Sangma, MLAs Charles Pyngrope and Paul Lyngdoh, and Secretary Malthus S. Sangma.
