Arrow Energy has announced a $10 billion Surat Gas Project in southern Queensland.
Arrow Energy today sanctioned commencement of phase one of its project, due to begin this year.
Arrow CEO Cecile Wake released a statement saying 'today's decisions by PetroChina, Shell and Arrow demonstrate commitment to and confidence in Queensland and the Australian market at a time of global economic turmoil from COVID-19 and against the backdrop of sustained low oil prices”.
Ms Wake said the Surat Gas Project would create an initial 200 construction jobs in phase one and a further 800 construction and operational roles over the life of the project.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the $10 billion injection into the Queensland economy was “the shot in the arm we all need”.
