The National Assembly session ended in chaos after AR leader Job Amupanda and fellow MP Tuhafeni Kalola were ejected from the house for failing to adhere to parliamentary rules.
Yesterday, Speaker of the National Assembly Saara Kuugongwela-Amadhila instructed Kalola to leave the house because he refused to sit down after rising on a point of privilege without being granted the floor.
However, during a media conference, Kalola stated that he was only rising on a point of order to address the dress code policy after Amupanda was refused the floor for wearing a pair of jeans.
AR leader Job Amupanda alleged that the Speaker, Kuugongwela-Amadilah, did not follow the rules in ejecting them from the House.
"The point that we're trying to make is that you could see that the lack of leadership and the dysfunctional nature-- the deputy secretary simply said, 'Suspend me if you want to suspend me.' Send me home. We, as ordinary members, can't send people home."
Following yesterday's events, the National Assembly stated that the events that unfolded in the house demonstrated a violation of the rules by the Affirmative Repositioning Members of Parliament.
The National Assembly explained that, subsequent to disorderly conduct and breach of certain Standing Rules and Orders, the two parliamentarians were removed from the National Assembly Chamber.
