This DJI Mini 5 Pro footage was recorded during my visit to Abéné in southern Senegal in January 2026. Abéné is a small coastal village in the Casamance region, known for its long Atlantic beach, laid-back pace of life and strong sense of community. Filmed during the dry season, the footage captures the golden sands, rolling waves and the calm, unspoilt feel that makes this part of West Africa so special.
During my stay, I was able to spend time with friends in the village, experience local music and drumming, and soak up everyday life in this working fishing community, where brightly painted pirogues line the shore and sunsets seem to slow time itself. This short drone flight offers a peaceful aerial glimpse of Abéné Beach — a place where nature, culture and community blend beautifully, far removed from mass tourism.
