The Victorian government is refusing to release secret surveys completed by Victorians during COVID-19 lockdowns despite calls from an independent pandemic committee.
Victoria Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas defended the government’s actions saying, “our government respects the privacy and confidentiality of all Victorians, and we are certainly not going to release any information that might compromise that”.
Contradictory to this, Victoria Shadow Treasurer David Davis believes that transparency would be advanced by making this “more widely available” in a way that is “safe”.
