Experience the spectacular beauty of Washington's grandest mountain. One of the best if not the best day hikes in the Paradise area of the park. This is the clockwise loop as you get to see the mountain in-your-face the whole way up. If done counterclockwise, coming down on the steeper side can be tough on the knees. But truly magnificent scenery from both directions so there's really no wrong way to go around the loop. It's just a matter of personal preference. This hike will reward you with all sorts of panoramic terrain, meadows, moonscapes, peaks and valleys, and of course the star of the show - the majestic Mt. Rainier.
