Training the Basic Unicorn Boxing Sequence (Kung Fu)

Описание: Gary Gee studied various styles from his brother-in-law, Sigung Ralph Shun. Among the various styles Ralph Shun taught, Shun considered the "Unicorn Boxing Style" as one of the most effective and efficient. Ralph Shun learned this Hakka style boxing from his first master, Wong Ku Faat. In Hawaii, Wong Ku Faat was considered one of the top three masters (sifus) during the 1950s and 1960s. (The other two were Lum Dai Yong and Ma Kin). Wong Ku Faat really never gave his style a "name". Most of his students referred to method as the "Unicorn" style. However, most purists agree that the name was used to refer to Wong's school since the Hakka school did not perform a traditional lion dance. Instead, the Hakka school performed (especially during holidays and celebrations) the unicorn dance.

In this video, Sifu Gary Gee demonstrates a training method that develops the speed and velocity. According to Ralph Shun, Wong Ku Faat's striking method was fast.
