Gogoi further alleged that the Chief Minister brought his family, including his minor children, into the public controversy in a personal attack and described Sarma's actions as politically motivated rather than based on genuine security concerns. According to Gogoi, the timing of Sarma’s press conference and focus on the SIT report was meant to distract from issues such as land ownership and Congress’s growing political activities in the state. Gogoi also stated that he has never sought to influence the SIT and has asked for the report's release, indicating full cooperation with the investigation.
