"Name it to Tame it" Parenting Strategy

Описание: In this video, I talk about “Name It to Tame It,” a strategy that Dr. Dan Siegel and I share in our book THE WHOLE-BRAIN CHILD. I think this is so important right now--when we’re overwhelmed and there’s so much happening in the world. Our children (like us) are dealing with a lot of unpredictability, and this strategy of naming our feelings helps to reduce the reactivity in our brains. It’s based on the science that when we become aware of and accurately describe what we’re feeling, it actually helps make the brain more integrated. This allows us to be more flexible, adaptive, coherent, energized, and stable. I hope you’ll give it a listen and let me know what you think.
