Delicious Sweet and Sour Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
500g chicken fillet
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cup flour
Oil for frying
1 Japanese cucumber
1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch chunks
1 yellow bell pepper, cut into 1-inch chunks
1/2 yellow onion, cut into 1-inch chunks
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup ketchup
Ginger
4 teaspoons soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
Cooking Method:
Cut chicken fillets into bite-sized pieces. Mix cornstarch and flour for the batter.
Beat eggs and coat chicken pieces. Dredge in the cornstarch and flour mixture.
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken until golden brown. Set aside.
Prepare vegetables: cut cucumber, peppers, and onion into chunks. Mince garlic and ginger.
Mix sugar, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, oyster sauce, and soy sauce to make the sweet and sour sauce.
In a wok, heat a bit of oil. Sauté garlic and ginger.
Add onions and peppers, then pour in the sauce. Simmer.
Add fried chicken and cucumber. Stir well to coat in sauce.
Optionally, add chopped spring onions for garnish.
Enjoy your homemade Sweet and Sour Chicken with steamed rice or your favorite side.
