In Tamil Nadu, toll plazas are managed either by NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) or by state authorities / private concessionaires (for state highways, bypass roads, bridges, and port roads). The ones not under NHAI generally fall under:

State Highways Department / Tamil Nadu Road Development Company (TNRDC) / Private BOT Projects

Here are some key toll gates in Tamil Nadu that do not come under NHAI:

🚗 TNRDC / State Highway Projects

Chennai – Ennore Port Road (Ennore Expressway)

Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR / IT Expressway) – Toll at Thuraipakkam & Navalur

East Coast Road (ECR) – Toll at Uthandi

⚠️ But here’s the important catch:

This pass is valid only for NHAI-managed toll plazas.

It cannot be used in state-owned tolls like OMR (IT Expressway), ECR (East Coast Road), Chennai Outer Ring Road (ORR), Coimbatore bypass (L&T), and other State Highway tolls.

Many people mistakenly assume it works everywhere, but it doesn’t.
