This session will educate and engage the audience on 5G technologies and how the technologies will be deployed on military bases.
Participants will learn about the history of commercial wireless on military bases and the obstacles faced. Discussion will also include approach to 5G implementation with necessary infrastructure and collaborative efforts.

Learning Objectives
Objective 1: Provide a foundation for the understanding of 5G technologies and infrastructure.
Objective 2: Explain current processes required to place 5G on military bases and challenge the audience to think of ways to improve the deployments.
Objective 3: Provoke thought about ways that 5G will improve systems and the operation of military bases.

Speakers

Marshall Phelps Pearsall, Wireless Infrastructure Consultant at KCI Technologies INC.
Marshall Pearsall is a wireless infrastructure consultant with KCI Technologies. With a communications career spanning over 30 years, Marshall is a recognized wireless professional with extensive real estate, zoning, regulatory, construction and legislative experience. Since joining KCI in 2017, Marshall has strived to be a bridge between private wireless entities and the government sector to facilitate collaborative efforts for the placement of wireless devices in public spaces.

James Hildebrand, President, Government Solutions at Signal Point Systems
James Hildebrand began his wireless telecom career in October of 1994. His first job within the wireless industry began at Sears in Wilmington NC. During his tenure, James was in the computer sales department selling programed phones for Sprint Cellular. James solidified his career within the wireless industry in 1999 with a small site acquisition company called Integrated Wireless Alliance. During this time, he worked multiple states for all the major carriers: Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. A vast amount of James experience was during his career with Verizon Wireless (14+ years) where he was responsible for multiple real estate projects, new tower builds, modifications, in building, DAS, oDAS, and in recent years, Small Cell. In April 2019, James embraced his passion, taking his career to new levels as the President of Government Solutions with Signal Point Systems. As President of Government Solutions his focus is growing the wireless infrastructure on military bases throughout the United States. The goal of Jim and his team is to enhance the mission ability and quality of life for each person serving our great nation.
